Jarom Tefteller is a seventh-generation resident of Upshur County, Texas, and a proud East Texas native. He grew up in Gilmer, where he became an Eagle Scout and graduated from Gilmer High School, a true Gilmer Buckeye at heart. After high school, Jarom attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his Business degree from the Red McCombs School of Business, consistently ranked as one of the top 5 undergraduate business schools in the nation.

Following in his father's footsteps, Jarom decided to pursue a legal career and attended South Texas College of Law in Houston. His primary motivation for choosing South Texas was its top-ranked Advocacy program, which consistently outperforms even prestigious schools like Harvard, Yale, and Stanford. Jarom knew early on that he wanted to be a trial lawyer, someone who would take the fight to the courtroom. At South Texas, he was handpicked by Dean T. Gerald Treece to represent the law school in national Mock Trial and Moot Court competitions.

After completing law school, Jarom returned to Northeast Texas and joined the Tefteller Law Firm, where he now heads the Tort Section. He specializes in wrongful death and personal injury cases, traveling across Texas to seek justice for the families of injured people or those who have lost loved ones.

Jarom’s commitment to his community extends beyond the courtroom. In 2015, he was elected as a Councilmember-at-Large for the City of Gilmer, receiving the most votes ever cast in a city-wide election for a council seat. He is currently completing his eighth consecutive term in office. Additionally, he serves in an unpaid position on the Board of Directors for Camp County EMS, a local non-profit emergency services provider.

Jarom is happily married to his wife, Regina, and they have two children together. Outside of his legal practice, Jarom is passionate about Longhorn Football, which he follows with great devotion. He also enjoys hunting, collecting firearms, and spending time in the great outdoors.
